This practical course introduces learners to the essential systems and service procedures used in modern electric vehicles. Through guided workshop activities, learners will identify EV components, apply high-voltage safety procedures, use diagnostic equipment, inspect electrical systems, and perform supervised removal and installation tasks.

The course covers high-voltage battery inspection, battery-health testing, electric motor servicing, inverter inspection, charging-system diagnosis, cooling-system checks, and fault-code interpretation. Learners will also practise using scan tools and electrical measuring equipment while following manufacturer specifications.

Because electric vehicles contain potentially lethal high voltage, all practical activities must be completed in an appropriately equipped workshop under the supervision of a qualified EV instructor.
